Membership at NorthStar
Are you interested in becoming a NorthStar member?
NorthStar is a place that offers structured pre-vocational volunteer opportunties to people who live with mental health issues. The "clubhouse," offers people who are not employed due to their mental health conditions an employment-like environment that provides meaningful structure and activity, peer support and social and recreational opportunities. To many members, NorthStar becomes a community or second family that is very accepting and supportive of all of its members. People who are employed can also use NorthStar for on-going support of their recovery.
See FAQ to learn more about how NorthStar is structured and how a clubhouse program may help to support the recovery of someone living with mental health issues.
Instead of clients, patients or consumers, participants of NorthStar are members. There is no cost to becoming a member and membership is completely voluntary. Once you are a member of NorthStar, you are always welcome. Becoming a member of NorthStar begins with attending an orientation group. Potential members attend an orientation to see the clubhouse and learn about our programs. During your orientation, you will receive a new member orientation packet that includes a short membership application.
Call 971-271-7273 to arrange an orientation if you wish to learn more about membership.
